Product Inquiry on WhatsApp 2.0 — everything that's new

New infrastructure, a faster app, hardened security, searchable inquiries, gift upgrades, and what's coming next — the full story of our biggest release ever.

A new home, built for speed

Version 2.0 started at the foundation: we migrated the entire app to new production infrastructure with the database sitting right next to the application servers. The result is something you feel on every click — the dashboard opens faster, pages navigate quicker, and the storefront button loads without delay for your customers.

Migrations of this kind usually mean downtime. Ours was executed as a coordinated cutover with full backups at every step, and the app kept serving your customers throughout.

Security, verified end-to-end

Every request your storefront button makes now travels through Shopify's own signed App Proxy. In plain terms: each request is cryptographically verified to come from your real store, and the old public endpoints are gone entirely. Your customers' inquiry data — names, numbers, messages — is only ever readable by you.

We also completed a full privacy overhaul: automated GDPR compliance (data requests and deletions are handled within Shopify's mandated windows), documented data handling, encrypted nightly backups with a strict retention cycle, and a written security incident response policy.

Find any inquiry in seconds

The Inquiries page grew up. You can now search across everything — customer email, phone number, product, or the message text itself — and filter by date range. If a customer messaged you three weeks ago about a specific product, you'll find it in seconds, not scrolling.

The dashboard analytics gained the same superpower: pick 7, 30, or 90 days and every chart follows.

Gifts, upgrades, and honest communication

We built a gift system into 2.0. From time to time we'll unlock Pro or Ultimate features on selected stores, free of charge — as a thank-you, a promotion, or while we trial new capabilities. When your store receives a gift you'll see it right in the app (and your billing never changes — gifts only add, never charge).

You'll also notice our emails look different: branded, readable, and sent from piw@wprobo.com. Reply to any of them and a human answers.

What's next: recover abandoned carts on WhatsApp

The feature we're most excited about is already built and entering release: abandoned-cart recovery. When a shopper starts checkout and leaves, you'll see their cart — items, value, and WhatsApp number — and win them back with one click, using a prefilled message from your own WhatsApp.

Unlike other apps in this category, there are no per-message fees and no complicated API setup. It rides on the same principle the whole app is built on: WhatsApp conversations your customers start, or you send personally, are free.
